The Department of History, Assam University, Diphu Campus(AUDC) organized Three Day ‘National Seminar
on History and Culture of North East India’ during February 24-26, 2011 at the University Campus, Diphu, Assam. The Three Day National Seminar was organised in commemoration of the late Professor Robert Th. Tiba who had served as the Head of Department of History, Diphu Campus, Assam University
The Seminar was attended by various scholars and prominent historians from North East Indian states such as Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland as well as from other parts of the country like West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh. Two faculty members from the Department of History, Govt. T.Romana College - Mr Malsawmliana, Assistant Professor and Dr Benjamin Ralte, Assistant Professor also attended the Seminar and presented papers on Mizo history.
Mr Malsawmliana’s paper was entitled ‘The Burial Customs of the Mizo’ while Dr Benjamin Ralte’s paper was ‘Economy of the Mizo in Tripura’.
